Tired of the shenanigans
of the world
I searched for
a quiet corner
of my own,
to keep the unclean
out and to simply
recover my simplicity
and be authentic
to myself.
Slowly saner thoughts
returned and
I regained my nerve.
Things looked clearer
and people less vile
than what they were.
And then came 
an admiring glance
aiming at my body.
Unwelcome, yet
a reminder that
I needed the world.
